We're Here!

British Telephone Booth
We arrived in London this morning, safe and sound! As soon as we dropped off our bags and hit up the ATM's, we hopped on the Underground and made our way to Covent Garden. Bill and I had paella for lunch (it was amazing!) then we made our way to Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery. The National Gallery was amazing. I got to see some of my favorite paintings  - van Eyck's The Arnolfini Wedding was cool, but much smaller than I had anticipated. But the best was Holbein's The Ambassadors. We all crouched down on the floor to see the hidden skull painted in - and you really can see it! I'd show you a picture, but we were not allowed to take any.

Hannah tames the Lion - Trafalgar Square, London

Courtney shows the lion what "ness" is all about...
Emily managed to climb (and dismount) the lion quite gracefully in her skirt!
After that, we walked to James I Palace and Green Park and even peaked through the gates of Buckingham Palace. As you can well imagine, there were dozens of camera crews lined up around the palace. The whole city is abuzz over the new prince!
Royal Birth Announcement...this store even had treats inside to celebrate!

We went to the oldest fish and chips restaurant in London, and the kids said it was hands down the best fish and chips they had every eaten. They will get no argument from me!!
After that, it was a brief stop at King's Cross Station at Platform 9 3/4. And I will end it here because I am thoroughly exhausted....more to come tomorrow. Just know we are all safe and well!
Gabrielle and Courtney fly to Hogwarts - at King's Cross, Platform 9 3/4

Becca heads off to Hogwarts, too!
Shay and Sarah don their Gryffindor scarves and push through Platform 9 3/4

Glen wears a scarf and a smile to Hogwarts

Emily looks surprised as she goes through the station wall...
